Unit 2 - The Journey On - Relaxation Exercise
This relaxation exercise was absolutely great! It is an autogenic training method, one in which I have used before. This exercise exemplifies exactly what our unit entailed this week which is that we CAN train our mind, very simply, to relax and slow our bodies down. I use this method weekly when I participate in Yoga. I used to just let stress run my mind and body, but through the help of meditation and soft music I have been able to really take the stress out of my life. I chose to do this exercise on the last day of our school week (Tuesday) as I knew I was going to be extra anxious about completing all of the course work this week for 3 classes. Once I was done with this exercise I felt so relaxed and much more focused on the tasks at hand. It also helped me with the overwhelmed feeling that I have had the last two days! Great exercise for the mind!

Hi Tracy! It's nice to meet you! Like you, I chose to wait until the last day of the week to do this exercise. We're closing on a new house this afternoon and I thought it would be a good way to calm my nerves before I sign my life away, especially since my current home hasn't sold yet! It really did help to calm my nerves, relieve tension in my shoulders, and help me feel warm and comfortable. I'm looking forward to what this class has to offer :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carlye! Congrats on your new house! I did real estate in Southern California for 17 years and yes it is very very stressful, so no better day than today to do the Relaxation Exercise to calm your nerves, well for a little while anyway! I look forward to getting to know you better through our blogs!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy,
ReplyDeleteI have only done yoga a few times, but instinctively I know it what I need to move me along on the path to Integral Health. Did you find that yoga made meditation easier to do, or meditation made yoga easier to do? I have lacked consistency, and am contemplating the best way to proceed. Thank you, Misti
